Don't get a credit card! One of the biggest mistakes kids make is getting a credit card before they're ready. If you miss payments, etc, it can REALLY screw up your credit future.

For example, my dad's CC bills are pretty high (he had to charge a lot of his business costs to his personal credit cards or his suppliers were going to stop shipping to him). He recently started paying off his credit cards (well, a lot more, anyway). One one of his credit cards, every payment he makes, AMEX lowers his credit limit. He payed off the debt with the intent that he would have that much extra "leeway" in case he needed it, but instead, they keep lowering his credit limit so that with the interest charges at the end of the month, he goes over his credit limit and gets slapped with fees for that.

So the moral of the story: DONT GET A CREDIT CARD.

Dell actually isn't a bad computer. I don't know what you're worried about. They're way better than HP/Compaq, and my friend has a kickass Dell computer that would easily blow mine away. You just have to know what you're buying and be careful.

Ya but how much more did he pay for his dell. Dell's suck for anything other then things like internet surfing, microsoft office stuff, and well any other basic stuff. Anything else you can build a much better computer for a lower cost.

Actually they don't have bad pricing and this thing is killer. It will do anything. It's certainly not just for surfing the internet. Actually some Dell pricing I can't even touch.

Not for a low end comp, like their $300 ones, but the gaming ones ya, they are overpriced.

Ya that wouldn't be a bad way to be able to order online, but you could just get a debit card from the bank. Anyway you still have to have the cash upfront.

well, same idea, yeah he is going to need the cash upfront, it would be dumb to charge interest to a CC, when you have a fine pc at the moment, plus do you have a cash flow to even pay back the CC?
