Default Windows service pack 2

I don’t have a registered copy of windows xp and I was wondering how I can download the WSP2 so it will work, it gives me an error that the key code isn’t registered. Is there a way to get around that? Please let me know.

Thanks much

You mean you have a copy of winxp. well u cant install it since during installation microsoft checks if ur system info(serails code for motherboard...) are the same as registered with them, so if u have a copy it wont work. I think it works this way but not sure, i heard this from someone. You should get the new installation CD containing the sp2 with the windowsxp.

Well what happens it says I don’t have a registered copy, I do have windows installed already but I’m trying to install the service pack 2 and is there a way to install that without installing a new copy of windows. Is there a download that doesn’t check the serial # or activation code

from what i understand u need to change the cd-key u've suppplied while installing.
to do that go to: http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q328874

and use another cd-key match to your windows. some of the cd-key being used are kindda restricted by microsoft, i know it sounds weird but... try it, i think it will b good for u!
