Reviews seem to be fair enough... But I'm sure there are others around that price range if others agree this is a bad PSU/brand

The older ones were, as are most of the models included with their cases. Their retail units these days are predominantly manufactured by Topower - not bad at all. PSU101 has many other choices, if you prefer.
