C:\Windows\System32

Search around a little bit, they will be called things like paint.exe, wordpad.exe, etc. Right click on the file and "send to desktop" or "create shortcut" or whatever option you have.

edit: the filenames are calc.exe, write.exe, and I can't find the Paint file right now, but it is somewhere in there

Well my IE is in Program Files, under a folder called Internet Explorer

As to downloading the files....I googled a little bit but didn't find much of anything. Look on Microsoft's site.

Also, you might be able to find the files on your Windows CD.
