what res are you going to be using the graphics card at...and how much are you getting it for? at the lower res it does keep up with 7900's and such, but at higher res and aa and af you might want to think about purchasing a 7900, ya its more expensive but you'll notice a difference in games and such. but if your gonna run it at 1024 x 768 or something then i guess it wouldnt matter too too much. just wondering if you looked at all your options in that department. although the xxx version is the highest ocd 7600gt so it does crank. but im pretty sure at higher resolutions and aa and af it starts to fall behind cards that are say 50-100bucks more expensive than it if you get it on sale. but that card may be perfect for you. just wondering if you just picked out parts or you really looked into each part you picked and thought about exactly what you were gonna use it for...

ohh and i agree with the core 2 duo idea...altho that setup looks great too

I agree, an E6300 setup would be great, but it depends if you are okay with overclocking or not..

yeah, my whole reasoning with the 7600GT XXX is that im going to buy a premium card a few months after Windows Vista and DirectX 10 to, no point in buying a card that will literally be out of date in four months.

and on the subject of pentium v. amd ive made up my mind a couple of months ago that i was going to build a amd system because its 64bit, so you get full Vista support, its a high frequency, and because a couple a months ago it was uncontestedly the best CPU available.

but maybe i should research more on the Core 2 dou, but then again, ive never been one to be swayed by one good product release, remember AMD has been the best CPU for quite awhile, and from what ive heard the AM2 chip has alot of potiental, not to say Core 2 Dou doesn't

a question i have though, is the Core 2 Dou 64-bit? does intel have any 64-bit CPU's? and, does any one have any links to the AMD and Pentium benchmarks

Thank Again

I wouldn't even buy an AMD rig now that Intel is kicking the crap out of them. Definitely snag the Audigy 2. Great card. The occasional snag with them, but they sound great.

thanks for all the help every one.
during my time researching i discovered that the core 2 duo is indeed better than almont any amd am2 cpu avialible

i have decided to go with the new core 2 duo, out of a honest ive failed to do any research on the intel cpu's in the past few month

may god have mercy on my soul
