Default no OS

i got a question... i already installed an OS to my notebook... it takes 2 hours to complete my installation. when i restarted it i just a blank screen... my hard drive is just a referb... i need to put a bootable disk to make it run. do i need to creat a primary dos partition to make it works?

have you selected the hard drive to boot from in the cmos?
