Default usb flash drive not recognized

Hey all!
I am having some difficulty with my GXT Pro 1gb flash memory drive. It works great on all of my computers except for my laptop. I figured it may be the laptop, but i have borrowed countless peoples usb devices (mouses, flash drives, a printer, palm hot sync) and they all work. But this one drive doesn't work on the laptop. When I plug it in it detects fine, but when I go to open it I see that the file system is RAW, or on some attempts dimply unrecognizable. I tried formating the key on my other computers to fat, fat32, ntfs and finally back to fat and none of the file systems would recognize. I tried to update the driver, but windows says it is up to date and i can't find one on the company website (except for win98...no good i run xp pro).

Any suggestioons?

That key should work fine on your computer if it has any USB ports and is WinME or higher OS. It could be some sort of hardware conflict (weird, but possible)...
