Default Duo E6400 vs X2 Dual-Core Processor 4600+

My friend wants me to build a computer and he has $800-$1000 to spend, and I have almost all the parts picked out minus a CPU and Motherboard. He is going to be using it for gaming and he wants it to be able to run UT2007 when it comes out. I equiped him with a 7900Gt so I think that should work good in the graphics but this is the only problem I have.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4600+ Socket AM2

OR

Intel® Core 2 Duo E6400 Conroe Processor 2.13GHz

Yep, go for the E6400. It has sooo much more overclocking potential than the Althon X2's

I would also recommend a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Motherboard.

What was the max FSB that you can set with that board?

The 6400. Of course, even without overclocking, though it is nonsense to buy a E6400 and not overclock it.
