Default Resolution question...

Does anyobody know of a program that will FORCE a game/app to run at a specific resolution?

I have a game that ONLY runs in 1024*768, that's the only option. I would LOVE to run it at a higher resolution, or a windowed smaller resolution. It supports windowed mode, but only in 1024*768 as well

WHats the game?
there are usually files you can open with wordpad and whatnot (I just did it with BF2 and FEAR for my new monitor) that you can change.

Knight Online

I opened up one .ini and changed the resolution section. Nothing changed in the game though

Try going to the shortcut of the game and in the "Target" field put at the end something like "height=1024 width=1280" (or desired resolution) without the quotes. here is an example "C:\Program Files\2K Games\Dungeon Siege 2 Broken World\DungeonSiege2.exe" height=1024 width=1280

I do this with Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege II, Purhaps if you cross your fingers it will work for your game.

there is also a 2 file thingy you put into the game folder ( where the .exe of the game is located) 1 of those files is a .cfg file, where you can edit the resolution.
i havnt found it on the internet again yet... but i use is to get the resolution of Silent Hunter 3 on 1280 x1024 ( yea.. i know... why on earth would you play a submarine sim?.. but its relaxed, yet exciting.. )
anywho.. i'll post a ling again when i found it

Edit: damn... im at work now.. (well, for school) and they blacked about half the internet site, because of bandwith usage... I'll post it when im at home

OK for some reason it's running in 800*600 like I wanted it too, using your method Blue.

But the image is not centered, it's cut off in its original 1024*768....know what I mean? Blah
