Default Halo Wars (Halo based RTS)

Well, I can't give any kudos on the name, but X06 today announced Halo Wars... an RTS in the Halo universe set before Halo 1.

This game, will not be done by Bungie though. Ensemble Studios took charge of it. (known for Age of Empires)

Also announced was something to do with the Halo universe between a game and movie (something interactive) by Peter Jackson.

Question: Are they milking Halo for all it's worth or do you think we can expect some quality from these titles?

Umm...no. This is pretty much Bungie finishing what they started. Halo originally started out as an RTS for the Mac. And who said Halo 2 was supposed to be the last one? Just the ending alone tells you there would be another Halo.

This is the reason why Halo gen was scrapped. If they had finished it and released it they would be in even more legal trouble then just receiving a C&D letter from Microsoft.

I'll try and find an interview where they claimed or seemed to claim that Halo 2 would be the last one,and yes i know it was meant to be an RTS until it was scrapped.

Since when was Halo 2 supposed to be the last? Ever play the campaign? They're not going to end the series with a cliffhanger.

I personally didn't like Halo 2 as much as the original, don't really know why for sure. Anyway, we'll have to see, because sometimes there's a dud inbetween some successes (think about the Star Trek series of movies..., every odd one is pretty bad...)

That is what he said, just in the wrong order. He basically said this is a pre halo 1.

I sort of agree, the Halo 2 campaign was a major dissapointment to me. But I simply love the online play. Halo 1 campaign was awesome.

I didnt think Halo 2's campain was so bad... sure, Halo 1's is better, but thats quite usual with those kind of sience fiction stuff, everything is new, and therefore more exciting. besides that.. they had MUCH more time for the halo campaign as they had for the halo 2 one
nevertheless,... im looking forward to Halo 3... and i think i'll even buy a xbox360 just for that game ( ofcourse i would get DOA4 etc too , but mainly for halo tough)
does halo and Halo 2 run on the 360 btw?
