Hi,
I have completed the hardware installation on my first computer. It boots up and I can enter BIOS. I selected the CD-drive as my primary boot-up device since I don't have a floppy drive. I put the Windows XP CD in, but it just blinks a cursor and nothing starts. The CD begins to turn as if it is about to start, but nothing happens. Do I need to load something else before it will load Windows? Thanks for any info. |

I got Windows installed. It only boots up when one CD-drive is hooked up? Even now that Windows is installed, it will not load it unless I unhook one of the two CD drives.
I have the IDE going from the secondary slot on the motherboard to one CD drive and then the next. It's a 1 plug to 2 plug IDE cable. |

On the back of each CD-ROM drive you will find a jumper with three settings-master, slave, cable select. You have to change the jumpers on the drives so that one is a master and one is a slave.
