Default I think I have a vid card problem on my new machine, need your help/opinions.

An having lag, disconnect problems that I think are related to the graphics card. I play one multiplayer game on the net, COD2. That's it. I need some help from the knowledgeable folks on this forum.

Some small bit of histsory:
I just built a new machine. 1st one in about 4 years. I've no special knowledge, just like to tinker. Here is the machine:

OS: XP Home
CPU: AMD 64X2 3800+ 2.0GHz 2x512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2
Mem: Corsair TWIN2XP2048-6400C4, 2GB Kit 4-4-4-12-2T
MB: ASUS M2N4-SLI Socket AM2, Chipset is NVIDIA nForce4
VGA: PowerColor 256MB X800GTO, 256MB DDR3 Radeon PCI Express x16
PSU: 420W PSU
Mon: Viewsonic VA1912wb (19", 1440x900, 8ms, DVI, Flat panel LCD)
Router: Linksys WRT54G Ver.5 (9/13/06: Upgraded to Firmware Ver. 1.00.9)
Modem: Toshiba Cable Modem Model #PCX1100U
ISP: RCN Cable

I've tried to play COD2 on multiple servers. Result is periodic and consistant lagging, and same with disconnects.

Does anyone have any info. re this card and COD2 ?
Can anyone help me with this problem ?
Thanks.

Default

It sounds like your connection is bad or you're just playing on servers with high pings. Try connecting to a server with a low ping and see if your lag/disconnects decrease.
