For some reason, lately when I try to open a PDF file instead of opening with the subject program, PhotoShop CS2 (which I use often and have had for a long time) pops up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Reader 7.0 several times lately to no avail. I get the "Adobe Reader 7.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. I can save the target to my desktop and open it with my Adobe Acrobat 5.0 program but it used to open PDF files automatically with Reader 7.0. Any ideas or advice?

Not a real solution to your problem, but FoxitPDFReader is a good alternative and opens faster than adobe, you can get it here: http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/pr...wpdftools.html
Within the settings you can change it to be the default viewer. Trying this might give you an idea whether the problem is with your adobe 7 or PS. Is there an option in PS to stop it being the default viewer? |
