5.1 speakers

I have just got a new computer and plugged my logitech 5.1 speakers into them however the rear speakers dont always work, they only seem to work in windows media player. They will not work when watching the tv or on the likes of youtube, any ideas guys?

When you're using a media player, it's just simulating 5.1 surround sound, since the sound files are only stero. However I guess when you watch TV or youtube, it's not simulating, thus it's only running stero. There should be an option somewhere that turns on 5.1 sound for everything.

Yea i'm also having this problem

5.1 Surround sound Logitech speakers

ASUS A8N-E Mobo

im using onboard sound. i had 5.1 till i changed cases and now it doesnt work anymore :-/

i cant find anyway to turn it on in all circumstances, its starting to really bug me because i had no problems with my last computer
