for around a $100 whats the best card to get?

That will depend on the type of card you are looking for. To look over both AGP and PCI-Express cards in five pages at newegg for $100 or less go to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...SubCategory=48

Once there you can also choose between models with either ATI and NVidia chips on them.

The 7600GS is the better of the two. I'd go with the 3D Fuzion model and save some money. If your budget will stretch slightly, a 7600GT is available for $110 after MIR.

i will probably buy the 7600gs then upgrade when directx 10 cards come out.
