Default FEAR and Vista don't mix?

I've been playing FEAR again (finally after my game save got deleted when I was SO close to the end ), but this time I'm running vista RC1. At first it plays all fine and dandy at smooth frame rates, but maybe 15-20 minutes into playing it, the framerate just dive bombs. It turns into a slideshow of maybe 1-5 FPS. While it's doing this the fan on my GPU slows down, as if it's not really doing anything anymore. Sometimes it slows down to a bareable framerate (15FPS or so), but it still annoys the hell out of me. Has anyone else experienced this with Vista? Can it be fixed?

Oh, and this also happens in Condemned too(same engine), but it takes a lot longer to happen.

if it happens to condemned (same engine) then the engine could have incompatlibilities with vista.

Ok, I was hoping that wasn't the case, but oh well. I'll live with it(can't stand XP anymore).

Vista's out of beta, its RC1 now. And the 5600 32-bit build feels pretty substantial so far. Aside from not being able to recognize my Audigy natively (had to download the 33MB driver files from Creative) it has been flawless on my computer. My only problem is that I have 512MB of ram, and Vista is currently running ~330-350MB of ram and 470MB of pagefile on my computer. I REALLY need a 1gig stick of ram for it....
