Default Overclocking oem

Need some help on overclocking my compaq. Specs on link.

I know almost most of the time that it is not possible to overclock an oem machine. Though I know that sometimes it is with programs. Can you lead me in the right direction to know if it is possilbe. Thanks for your help. ~Holyjunk

im pretty sure that all the big companies like HP, Dell, Compaq lock their BIOS Ocing settings

Yes, I know. But I also know that there are ways around this but I don't know a whole lot.

um i think flashing the BIOS would take off any locks they put on there

I tried to flash my bios for my old gateway and it didn't do a damn thing. So that narrows it down to all other brands, lol.
















I know I wasn't really helpful there....

I am new to everything to overclocking so I will read up. Though my situation will be different. So umm.... forgive the noob question how to I flash the bios?

I know with the old Dell I used to have, if I tried overclocking the GPU or CPU using Windows programs, once I raised it a few Mhz, the computer crashed. I'm guessing your HP will do the same thing.

But can't I try it? If it does crash can I get everything back to normal?
