Have you downloaded and installed Ultramon? I have that, and it helps a load.

hmm.

Ok, lets see if I can help.

Go into your monitor properties (right click desktop blah blah blah, click the tab corresponding to what graphics card you have for advanced option). Make sure you have selected a dual monitor set-up from the drop down menu.

Next install Ultramon, and restart. Now, go into those same properties, and there should be another option in the drop down menu, cant remember what its called, but it'll be the one that wasnt there before (probably the bottom one).

If this is confusing, I can do screenshots when I get home. Or, talk to you thru msn & do some remote assistance.

Ok.

Right-click desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Click the tab that's named after your graphics card.

Now, from here, I assume you have a nvidia graphics card...

On left hand side, click 'nView Display Settings'. Firstly, in the 'nView Display Mode' drop down menu, select anything other than 'Single display', so 2 monitors appear on the space below.

Now, choose the order of priority for your monitors. (Primary has start menu on). Next, click and drag the pic of the monitors round, and apply, so the start menu is on the left-hand side monitor.

Now, install Ultramon. This adds the option of 'Dualview' in the drop-down menu.

what video card? both Nvidia and ATi have options in their drivers although both will be a bit different. To achieve what you want it's simple though.

Right click on your desktop then click properties. You then click "settings", click on the screen which you wish to be your main screen, then put a checkmark beside "Use this device as the primary monitor"

The problem with running a game and surfing the Internet with a duel head setup is... well the game captures the mouse usually, when it does not it will usually minimize when you click on the second monitor.

Video card drivers will have many features however to make your duel head display experience a nice one. I won't go into detail as you have not made clear what video card you have.

Well now . If you goto your cards control panel you will find and entry called "Desktop Management". In there you can play with many settings that will give you a better duel view experience. I have my PC setup so I can switch applications from one screen to the other at a simple button press (I use one of the many mouse buttons). You can set different wallpaper for each monitor and so much more. I won't bother explaining all these settings but If you venture into this section you'll find many convenient settings to play around with. Have fun with it.
