Same here, that way I can post some of my favorite videos without needing to start a new thread for each one.

Then what's the point of this thread if the suggestions won't be taken seriously?

Everything that is suggested in this thread is being considered on an ongoing basis between the moderators and admin. Rest assured it is taken seriously. Just because a suggestion hasn't been implemented doesn't mean that a) it won't ever be implemented or b) that it is pointless suggesting it in the first place.

Keep the (serious) suggestions coming in, and they will continue to be discussed behind the scenes.

well situations change, just because something was felt not to be in line with our goals ages ago doesnt mean its cant be reviewed to see how it fits now

Lets build a whole section for videos, allow hosting of user vids.... and sell it to google in 15 months for $1 billion.... (split between all the mods)

ok know i know this thread had been unstickied but i felt i would post in here rather than setup a new thread on this one

My question is do we really need all these "official" this and that threads. They seem to be popping up everywhere at the moment for various things. I mean seriously at this rate there are just going to be 30 different threads on the forum where we are expected to post!

I dont see the necessity in them, generally people will try and search for a thread if they can but we dont need to amalgamate and entire genre of questions or posts into one "official" one do we?

if its a big and popular topic then fair enough, the PS3, Wii Xbox one i understand as a lot of new threads could have been expected but otehrs seem a litttle wayward

please dont anyone who has started on of these threads take offense im just stating a view here

Yes, those are being dealt with. Many of the "official" threads posted are not official. I have asked the members in question to rename them. I have renamed those within the OFF-TOPIC myself. It is entirely fine to ask questions and for opinions, but there is no need to put the word official there. That's why we have the search button

i dont wanna sound off when i point this one out but i thought the birthday one was a bit unnecessary too

It kinda defeated the object of celebrating a birthday. Its a special day and its always nice to see a new thread started for you, having an "official" one just takes all of the sentiment out of it i reckon.

Keeping it in one particular thread makes it almost like saying "yes we know its your birthday but we would rather it doesnt alter the forums as its not really important"

Well thats my view anyway

No problem, I appreciate you being frank with me (cause it was me who dealt with that). Now the main reason I tend to merge threads with the same topic is because it often clutters the section too much. The OFF-TOPIC is very busy as it is and having all these birthday threads could be confusing or distracting to those looking for something else. However, that said, I do see that it is no longer personal to the same extent as the thread if it were made individually.
