Download HJTsetup.exe from this link http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This. Please install it there. Continue to click "next" in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the "Select Addition Tasks" dialogue. Put a check by "Create a desktop icon" then click "Next" again. Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there. At the final dialogue box click "Finish" and it will launch Hijack This. Click "open misc. tool section" button, click "open uninstall manager>click save list, yes to the prompts, notepad will open with your add/remove programs list.Post that list here. |

As for the spyware cookies, make sure in CCleaner/Firefox- cookies are selected for cleaning. If they're still there after, just navigate to them and manually delete them.
Next, go to 'Control Panel/folder options/view' and check 'show hidden files and folders'.While there, UNCHECK 'hide protected operating system files(recommended)'. Click Apply and Okay. Run HijackThis. Select 'Misc.Tools/Delete a File on Reboot" Navigate to - C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\f3initialsetup1.0.0.8.inf - c:\windows\downloaded program files\f3initialsetup1.0.0.6.inf Click open.Okay. Hijackthis will tell you that this file will be deleted on next reboot and if you want to reboot now. Click no after the first entry but after both have been entered, Click Yes/ok. Your system must reboot now. Once back in windows, Check to make sure those are gone. If they are, then purge the restore folder by going to 'Control Panel/ System/System Restore' and check the box ' Turn off system restore on all drives' click 'apply' and 'okay'.Reboot your computer and then enable system restore again and create a 'New Restore Point' by going to 'Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore'. Also reverse the steps you did earlier- rehide the windows files, etc. |

OK, I might have a problem. I did as suggested with doing this:
" Run HijackThis. Select 'Misc.Tools/Delete a File on Reboot" Navigate to - C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\f3initialsetup1.0.0.8.inf - c:\windows\downloaded program files\f3initialsetup1.0.0.6.inf " When I cillicked on downloaded program files, HT said "this file will be deleted on reboot" The whole file I think. It didn't let me pick the 2 specific files within downloaded program files. I went out of HT and in through my computer and found the same program files. Whithin downloaded program files there are about 6-8 files. I don't want to delete all the files but I think HT will whenever I re-boot next. How can I cancel the file deletion with HT? And why did it not let me navigate to the specific files I wanted. Thanks. |
