Default dual monitors

ok i got a new graphic card supports dual monitors plugged them in, got same thing on both ...
heres my set-up

new video card has blue slot and a white slot it came with a v shapped connector plug one end into the white plug, then on monitor in one of the 2 connectors now to plug my monitor into one of the v connectors i need an adapter whihc i have one.... now i plugged one monitor into the blue slot and one into the v connector, id assume that if i have another adapter the set up on the windows (right click desktop > properties> display) will be much eassier if it recongnizes 2 seperate monitors
cause id like to do seperate things on both monitors

EDIT:::::: one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814999201
would that work
