Firefox Customising Toolbars Problem

Hey,
I have been using firefox for a while, and when I installed the latest version, 1.5.0.7, it reset all my toolbar settings. So when I go and change it all back again, its fine until I close firefox. When I reopen it, the toolbars have all gone back to their default state. I have browsed through all the troubleshooting problems and everything but cannot find out how to fix this, any ideas?
