Default Pentium D 915 (2.8) or Pentium 541 (3.2)?

Hi guys,

I'm new here and I'd like to first say hello to everybody.
Please give me your opinions on this choice - pentium D 915 2.8 ghz or Pentium 541 3.2 ghz and please explain why you would choose one over the other.
Thank you very much.

I'm sorry, I will do that. But so far I've only seen questions refering to Core 2 Duo processors while mine refers to Pentium D versus Pentium 541.
But I will search some more. Thank you.

I would go with the Pentium D 915, simple because its a dual-core so overall performance will be greater, especially in mutli-threaded games/apps.

I couldn't agree more. Or if possible, look into the AMD Athlon X2 3800+. It is relativley similar in price, and outperforms both processors.

Yes but heres the thing....if there is alot of similar topics my original post needs to be stated, think about it if i dont say it first, every problem the member has he will ask, instead of searching and finding the answer....

i have dozens of problems asked to me by friends and family to fix, and i usually get my answer from here or searching google, i only have roughly 200 posts but thats because i post what i cant really find.

Well if you don't like helping people or want to complain about it than don't post, it's simple.

LOL, dont be bringing stuff from another thread to here, its not necessary...

To answer the original questio which i forgot to do, was i would chose any pent d over any p4, as two are better than one.

A little food for thought, i found the pent d 915 for 135, im not sure if ur planning to build or comparing two systems or w/e, would u be able to stretch ur budget, cuz the c2d e6300 is 180, not too much more than that pent d but it would blow it away performance wise.

I'd favour the PD 915 as well. The second core will be more helpful in most cases.
