Default SLI ready, what video card?

I have the Asus A8N deluxe mother board, which is sli ready with two pci-e slots and am looking to fill it with one video card, that is sli ready, should I want to buy another one down the line. Im unclear to the requirements for sli other than the two cards need to be the same....

My price range is about 100$ - 120$ USD and I know some of the Nvidia cards say sli ready, but what im unsure of is if the radeon cards will do the same, work as sli? (some have crossfire ready, but my board doesnt support that)

I was interested in the x800 or x850 by Radeon, but would this work as sli (if I got a second one down the line)?

Not sure on the Nvidia side, maybe the 7300 GT, anything that would be good in my price range and be sli ready.

Thanks

Is SLi Really worth it?

Multi GPU configs using cheaper GPU's is always a bad idea.

Okay, well honestly Im not really that interested in having two cards at the moment, but just thought it would be better, for the future, that I have an sli capable card, in that way Im not spending the money for a card now, than maybe two mored down the line.

Thanks for any suggestions.

not really, cause for 120, you can get like a 7600gt. And by the time you get enough money, getting another 7600gt wouldn't nearly as good as saving up a bit more money and getting a better card.

Don't get SLI atm, wait for direct x 10, i am not gonna wait because vista costs a hell of a lot, and so does the card. I would suggest getting an nvidia 7900GS.

ya save your money and get a really good card, because sli doesn't actually give you 2x the performance, more like 80-90%

Despite sli or not, which im not gettin now, I found this, a 7600GT that looks like a good buy upon price and recommendations, so please let me know if this wouldnt be a good choice. Also, for anyone else that may be interested in this, from new egg, for $132.99 with $20 rebate.
