Default Ok to use DDR2 800 in DDR2 667 mobo?

I came to a point where returning DDR2 800 memory and buying DDR2 667 would cost me more than just keeping it.

But ... can I use DDR2 800 RAM in DDR2 667 motherboard?

If it works the same way as normal DDR ram, then yea, it'll just downclock itself to run at the right speed. Im 95% sure it'll work, but wait for someone else to confirm

Yes it does work. I used DDR2-800 in my previous Pentium D build and it just ran at DDR2-667.

It is now confirmed, DDR2 800 runs perfectly at DDR2 667 speed.
At least, Crucial memory does.
