Default Upgrading Onboard vid card help.

Ive chosen to install a new vid card on my pc. I have disabled the onboard vid from windoes, and installed the new vid card/driver(catalyst). It does recognise the new vid card and all. Now when i restarted my pc..the display had these kinda lines in them, sort of lookes like matrix. I tried running WoW..i noticed the game play was alot smoother..but the actual graphics looked very bugged up..so basically couldnt play at all. The same effect happens on all games i play..smoother..but graphical problems. Just wanted to know what is causing these problems..and how i can fix this.

Im wondering if it may be my motherboard..it probably wont support the new vid card. Or am i just missing something else when i disable onboard graphics from windoes?

Thanks

Vid card is Ati Radeon 9550..not too sure about the temp. Although i did feel around the vid card/ram area..and it did feel pretty warm. I put in another fan facing the ram..and still gets warm.
