Default There's one item I can't shift off my history list

Hello

I was browsing online for a birthday present for my girlfriend on our computer.

I cleared the computer history after using it (which I always do) but when I enter the first letter of the address where I bought the present, the whole address re-appears in the address bar!!

For every other letter of the alphabet, nothing appears. It's as though I've deleted every record from the history list except this one particular page which takes you straight to the item I bought her

I cleared the history by selecting Tools\Internet Options\Clear History.

I've also tried autocomplete on the content tab on Tools\Internet Options.

Is there anything else I can do so I can remove this? I would like her birthday present to be a surprise after all!!

Neither the history or cookies have to do with the item appearing in the address bar. What you have to do it this:

Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete > Clear Forms

I've run ccleaner and its still there

Trizoy, I've done what you've suggested. That removes it from the toolbar but when I type the first letter again, it appears again :-(

What the hell! I might as well be honest with you all!

It was an adult site that I looked that won't shift from the address bar at the top of the page, it keeps appearing when I enter the first letter...

It IS her birthday soon and I DID buy her present online last night so I thought I would use that instead because it sounds better!!

Does this mean there's another way of sorting the problem? I wasn't sure if some adult sites have something placed on their site that can cause this problem.

Sounds like it is worth following the steps described in the SECURITY section to tackle spyware.
