Turning off the routers firewall

Is this possible? To entirely disable a routers internal firewall. I know how to portforward but my router is causing me no end of worries.

You should be able to disable the firewall in it's settings. What type of router do you have?

I have a Dick Smith Electronics - XH1169

You can place a computer in the DMZ and then it would not be covered by the firewall.
