can anyone please explain me in simple words for what do I need static Ip and maybe the difference between static and dinamic IP.I want to sign up for dry dsl internet service and curently using voip do I need a static IP?

Dynamic IP means it changes every so often(usally when it connects) Static IP means it's always the same. Typically, DSL servies are DHCP. It's about half and half for cable, but I do beleive most are dynamic.
