Default Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit (not external)

Ok i have sound blaster live 24-bit, i recently switched computers because my other one just broke so i switched to this pc which is a bad quality 667mhz deskpro ep/sb and i have my sound blaster live installed correctly and under device manager when i double click it it says that it is working correctly, i try to play music which nothing will play and i open windows media player and it says i dont have the drivers installed, when i go to sounds and audio devices all of the boxes are faded to where i cannot click them, i made sure under device manager that sound blaster live sound card was enabled, there is a problem under the device manager theres something that says unknown device with a yellow ! next to it,i right click it go to update driver and it then says this wizard helps you install software for: then it says MEDIA, i click next and it searches for drivers then a window pops up that says the software your are installing for this hardware: Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatability Driver has not passed windows logo testing to verify its comp. w/ windows xp., i tried continuing install anyway but didnt work at end so i just leave it there, i tried just uninstalling it but it comes back no matter what and my sound never plays, any ideas?? thanks

What is the specific model of the sound card? I don't see that sound blaster have an internal live! card. Other than that, let us know the exact model, such as if it was sb0410, etc.. You can try creative's autoupdate utility and see if it recognizes your card and download the right driver.

Ok, you should try and go to Creative's support site here:
http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/

Navigate to your card called the 24-bit, not the 24-bit External and download the driver (All) from there. Before installing the driver, go into your Device Manager and delete your sound drivers that is currently there. Then try installing the new driver you just obtained from Creative's site.

That MS update sounds like a sound driver issue, so it might work after you get your sound driver working.
