Default My business trip to Texas

So here I am at 11:40pm central time in the Houston international airport. Because of the weather I missed my connecting flight. The next flight is not until 7:25am tomorrow morning. Every hotel in the immediate area is booked. There is a line that rivals Disneyland lines in front of the continental airlines service center. I decided to plug in my work laptop (and old piece of crap Dell) in the corner and start doing some work since I will be very late to work tomorrow. I sat at "Time Out Concession bar" right before they closed for the night and was able to get a few Coors Light's in me so I feel a little bit better... what a business trip! When I got to the rental car place at the airport on Monday they were completely out of cars because of the big Cowboys/Giants game.... so I had to get a taxi to the airport after searching all of the other rental car places with no luck... At least the business aspect of the trip was successful!

Anyway, I needed to vent.. and what better a place?

It was on my company credit card... after all of the reimbursments the 3 days with the rental car will end up costing my company $44 lol!

anway, it has been far from "fun"... I am bored out of my mind. I feel like running around the almost empty airport, however, my suitcases would probably be gone... I would be lost without my IPOD! at least I can listen to some good music while I wait and wait and wait...

lol!

It have not played a computer game since Total Annihilation...

Anyway, the morning went by VERY, VERY slow. I turned off the computer and walked over to one of the restaurant areas. Even with the stores closed, the are smelled really good! I sat in a corner, turned on one of the big screen TV's and watched for a few hours. Then I walked over to one of the gates where there were a bunch of people sleeping. Some people turned two rows of chairs on their sides, pushed them togehter and slept in between..

I just sat in a chair, moved another row closer for my legs and just sat there watching CNN repeat every 30 minutes for about 4 hours. (went through about a hundred songs on my IPOD..) I took a 7:25am flight back to San Diego, got to work at 9:00am and worked till 5:30pm... I just got about 45 minutes of sleep, felt I should come onto the forum and clean a few things up and now I am going to go out to a pool hall with some friends.

I have decided to listen to something someone told me a few years ago:

It is very easy to trick yourself into not needing to sleep. It is called Red Bull.

Hmmmm, who told me that??? ... oh yeah, it was Praetor.

You drank Coors Light? I hope to hell you're a female... That's a woman's beer. lol. My ex-girlfriend used to go through so much of that stuff she kept a 24 at My house at all times just so she wouldn't run out. Naturally I helped Myself all the time, because free beer is better than no beer, but I wouldn't exactly ask for it at the bar. lol

At least you have access to the internet. It could be worse. You could be stuck staring at some old fat lady snoring away in the seat across from you, drowning out your Ipod.

Or, if you need to vent, and this is always good for an hour of fun, you go up to customer service and yell and scream at someone who has absolutely no control over the situation. You get to bitch and yell and scream until it is all out of your system, and all they can do is sit there and nod/squirm. It's great fun. Having some kissass that can an does do anything for you to shut you up is not as enjoyable.
