I just need some input on this illogical thing I can't get past:
The Windows File Checker always grabs the damaged system file from the WinXP CD--but if a legitimately newer version was damaged, wouldn't it be replaced by an older version of the system file (from the XP CD?) And wouldn't that cause some programs to run badly? I just wanted to know if this actually can happen or am I not seeing some intervening mechanisms? Thanks! weixifan PS I got my files from my old hard drive back!! (The solution was getting a file recovery freeware [not demo].)
