I just ordered my new sound card, i decided on the CL XtremeGamer with the X-RAM. here is a link:

In some games and music you may hear popping and crackling coming from the speakers. The only time thats happened to me was when I was playing Flatout 2.

FlatOut 2 makes funny noises on my PC as well. It's probably just a flaw in the game itself, and not hardware.

Well, FlatOut 2 is the only game I've noticed that made funny noises on my machine, which is why I beleive it's software... However, I don't have any other hardware to prove it.
