I am thinking about upgrading my RAM but have a few questions. I have a emachines t3882, it only has 256mb of ram right now, its ddr sdram. If I upgrade it to 512, do I need to buy another 256 card, or buy a 512 card?
And what is the best website to buy ram from? And one other thing, will a 256mb upgrade make a very big difference in speed, this computer likes to bog down alot. Last edited by chris8105; 10-30-2006 at 04:41 AM. |

That model supports upto 2gb of ram. You can easily boost the system performance with a pair of 512mb PC2700 dimms. One site that has a memory comparison guide is seen at http://www.4allmemory.com/index.cfm?...model_id=50782
Boosting available memory helps processes load faster at times and can improve stability by preventing out of memory errors seen when too many things are running at the same time. After the first portion of memory used by the system itself you don't have much to work with having only 256mb. Run a pair of 512mb dimms and you will start to notice a definite improvement on the older system there. |
