Default Codec Problem

Ok, I have some vids on a hard drive. They'll play on my computer at work, but they won't play on my home PC. When I try to play them at home, the WMP says "Error downloading codec" at the bottom.

How can I tell what codec my work PC is running and put it on my home PC to make the thing play the vids?

Default

get this little app called Gspot

http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

Open your video into it and it'll tell you how the file was encoded, and what your computer uses to decode it.
