Hi guys,
Please forgive my ignorance but I'm new to laptops. This is my first one and I need some advice regarding battery care. While at home I always work on AC power but while it's off (during the night for instance) the battery will lose some power, about 3-4%. When I turn the system back on the battery starts recharging. Isn't this process of partially discharging and then recharging again bad for the battery? Could it shorten the life of the battery? If yes, what do you recommend? The battery is a 6-cell Li-Ion unit. Thanks a lot in advance! |

This is true for NiCd(IE OOOOLD laptops) Ni-MH(typical rechargable AA and similar batteries) and Lithium(what basically all laptops use now) are actually better to be charged as much as possible.A full discharge and recharge is good every so often, but it's not reccomended as with older style batteries.
