I don't know if you'd consider it inexpensive, but it has a pretty nice feature set

errm if thats inexpensive to you i'd be scared to think what expensive was, thats near the top end of prices. In fact i think theres only one board on newegg more expensive for the lga775!

Thanks for having a look for me though

erm

memmory - ddr2 533mhz - (2 slots supports 4gig max)

expansion slots - 1 pci express X16
1 pci express X1
2 pci slots

storage - 3 sata (1 external)
2 ide (1 external)

as far as i can gather the board i good for price, has overclocking features ASUS C.P.R and SFS dont know how to use them yet
the only thing that i was bothered with was the memory 533mhz i wanted 800mhz-also would have prefered 4 slots of 1gig each slot rather than 2 of 2gig each

yeah same thoughts i had about the memory.

however i am currently using an Althlon 3200, 1gb pc3200 and a radeon 9550

so i reckon that board, 1gb 533mhz mem, radeon x850xt and an e6300 would be a vast improvement

The Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 and the DS3 respectively. I would save the extra money and spend it on something else like a better graphics card, etc. In addition, both of the above boards are great overclockers.

from the small picture i can see i think i only spot one ide controller and a floppy controller on both boards so out of the equation im afraid, plus they are getting towards the prices for some of the 975 boards i have seen

As stated before i'm not after overclocking at all so just a sturdy basic board is all i need.

Even though thats all i need it doesnt seem overly easy to find one so far, although the asus one is looking good for a start.

Also with regards to the graphics card choice, i think the X850XT would be enough for me. Bear in mind that im currently using a 9550 and it pretty much does enough for me so the x850 must be a fair improvement
