Right now I have a T3882 emachine computer that I would like to do a little bit of upgrading to. Here is what I want to do to it..
mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813123009 processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116231 ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145526 video card http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1149206843643 It will run good with that setup wont it? Another question I had was the mobo, I am guessing that it will bolt up just fine to my emachine case? |

Maybe, maybe not. You'd need a new power supply most likely as well.
Instead of the P4 541, get the Pentium D 805.

You will most likely have to buy a new case, usually OEM cases will not accept any other motherboards then what the manufacture makes for it due to proprietory case connections going to the motherboard. You can get decent cases pretty cheap these days, just make sure the power supply is sufficient.

Is there a big difference between the d805 and the pentium 4 541?
I found this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811154041. Does everything I picked out look good for a pretty good running pc? |

1. The 805 is dual core, while the 541 is single.
2. Don't trust power supplies that come with cases.

I've heard and am familiar with Epox. They have good things.
Now, for you Chris, I have to things to disagree in your listing. The video card you chose is a 7600GS, which implies GDDR2. I would recommend using the 7600GT, which uses the GDDR3 memory. Next, I also recommend that you buy a 500W+ Power supply. The one in your listing is not enough. My P4 has the limits on it with 9 fans and such, soo...upgrade yours. The Processor is pure junk as well. The FSB is 533 and the motherboard's is FSB800/1066 only. Get this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116253 RAM: It;s good, but it could be better. Get this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145568 A few bucks more and faster.

Also, a friend's new W3118 uses an FIC K8MC51G motherboard, also with a custom eMachines BIOS. I was going to put in a Biostar M7VIG400 earlier this year in my W2785 case and the measurements showed it would have fit inside with no problems, even down to the positions of the mounting screws. Tom
