It sounds like the system registry was corrupted by something more like a bad installation of something you recently installed. To save the current installation of Windows there are a few steps you can take like disabling all startups with the msconfig utility and running a registry cleaner. But the first step to take when having problems removing programs is to boot in safe made. This only sees the basic system files loaded for Windows.

The prompt for reporting an error is the error reporting service now seen in XP. Sometimes a page will open providing troubleshooting information. That doesn't happen too often however. Once in safe mode if you haven't already tried this method you can try the add/remove again. If this doesn't work you need to manually remove registry keys after first having disabled the programs you are trying to remove with the msconfig utility.

You have two items listed as "unknowns" which is typical for HT.
