Default help with new system build

hiya, im new here so be gentle
ive just built a new system for the mother in law, this is the spec
winfast 760GXK8MC mothboard
AMD 64 SEMPRON 3000+
TEAM 256 DDR
MAXTOR 80 GIG H/DRIVE
NVIDIA GeFORCE FX5200 128MB
i asked a computer shop to put a bundle together and this it
when i put it all together and tried to install xp pro it goes well untill its finished loading the files then reboots and i get the set up screen saying 35minutes remaining then i get a physical dump screen.
all the components are new and in sealed boxes.
anyone any ideas??

To me, looks like the memory may be faulty. go to www.memtest86.com and download Memtest. Grab a floppy or CD and test the memory.

it says 64 on the processor box, is this a 64bit chip and do i need windows 64 edition for it as i trying my normal xp

No, 64-bit can handle 32-bit operating. I think the only CPU that can't is the Itanium CPUs, I think

There should be some numbers on there like STOP 0x000000C5 (0x000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x000000). Those numbers will help us understand what's happening. To be honest I think it's a RAM problem as well but it's nice to be sure.

insert you ram into others' computer.

just google the error code on the blue screen in the internet .

it may tell you the exactly problem

problem solved! took memory back got exchange, everything seems ok
just one more thing
processor according to box says "AMS 64 SEMPRON 3000+"
in control panel/system says "AMD sempro (tm)processor
3000+
1.8ghz 256mb of ram
physical address extension"
1= whats the 1.8 ghz ive been told thats the speed of the processor

Yes a 754 Sempron 64 3000 is 1.8ghz.. I just sold a 754 DFI system with a Sempron 64 2800. Got the 2800 because it has 256k of L2. But is shows up as just a Sempron in the control panel. As long as the model number ends in BX its 64 bit!
