Default Keypad Issues? N e suggestions?

Hello,

Its been over a year now since I bought me HP zd8215 laptop, and its been a nightmare. Too many issues from optical drives to wireless card, to sticky keypads, and now I have another one.

My recent issue is that when I press certain keys on the keypad on me laptop, they work as a 'mute/unmute' function. Specifically 'g','h','f4','f5','f6', and '0' on the numpad, and the actual 'mute/unmute' button on the laptop does not operate or function at all. Tx steps included reinstallation of quicklaunch, keyboard drivers, as stated by the hp representative, which was a complete waste of time as it didnt help. Towards the end they stated it to be a hardware issue.

N e suggestion or tx steps that I can take to resolve this issue?

Thx

On some laptops you can replace the keyboard if it is a hardware issue.

But am not sure if it is a hardware issue, coz the keys are typing the designated alphabet with additional mute/unmute function with it(which is the prob)...hardware or software issue then?
