Ethernet dont work with ME
I have a comp that with a 20 G hardrive and Win 98 everything works including the ethernet card.
I put in a 40 G harddrive with ME on it and I can not get the ethernet card to work no matter what I do.

the 40 gig hd with ME, did you get that from another pc ? or did you do an install ?
if you got the 40 gig from another pc AND it has completely different hardware then the destination pc, that could be the cause. You are not suppose to do that. ..anyway i have not seen ME in the field for about 2 years. I have seen that same thing with me when i use to service them at customers houses / businesses. Pop in a new NIC and it would not work. ME is , well really really bad. Go back to win 98 or up to win 2000 or xp.

Sounds like you're missing a driver or two on that other drive.
