Default Is my xp pro genuine?

My friend sent me a CD of XP pro ,(i used to use trial version)

I install it on my pc.

It works well

I have test it on the microsoft website which said my OS is genuine.

But , does it surely prove it is genuine?

PS: I don't want to ask my friend how he get it .

If the serial is not genuine as in not been used to many times then it will not accept it. You will find out pretty quick if it is or isnt ok for you...

What you wanna say is that i should wait for long enough to see whether the serial key be used by someone ?

No just try and do the updates and get the validation and see if it lets you generally if the key is a valid microsoft key it will let you install it...

I always say, if you have to question if it's legit then the legitimacy is questionable. The fact that you said your friend sent you a copy means you didn't have it before and I'm sure you didn't purchase a license. Anyway, I'm not going to accuse you.

I don't know for sure that you didn't previously own a copy, but it got ruined and he was watching your back. I'm sure that's what happened.
