Yes the cpu will be able to play bf2, and for $130, a 7600gt would be nice.

lets just say, my 3000+ XP can play BF2142 (at least the demo, I didn't really like it) and thats with my 5600xt video card... I think you will play it with ease.

I think if you could toss in another 70 dollars you could get a better one like 3800 dual core.

amd makes a 3800+ in a single core and a 3800+ in a dual core.

I'm reusing a post for a similar thread
-------------------------------
upgrade the video card (recommend 7600GT) and toss in some RAM

my 1.3 P3 tulatin played the demo acceptably with a gig of pc133 ram.

the minimum specs for BF2 deluxe are 1.7ghz processor 512meg ram and 3.5 gig of available hard drive and directx 9 compatible video card.

I wouldn't recommend wasting the $10 on deluxe version if your into online playing, usually only one or two servers running on Special forces expansion (included in deluxe version)

my new (finished 1 week break in yesterday) AMD xp 3800 with geforce 7600 gt and 1 gig ddr2 800 ram plays it easily with all settings on HIGH

GONE - p4 1.4 384 Rdram, 120 gig HD geforce 5200

Laptop - AMD 2400 mobile XP downclocked to 800mhz for heat, 512 mb ram, 40 gig HD

plays on a 3000+ and a 6600, you'll be fine with a 3500+ and a 7600GT or even a 3400+ and a 6600

something else you could look into is that x1650 that was posted, its a good card

its even in the title that its a 939 processor, you REALLY need to read up on your CPUs...

The next dual core model up is the 2.2ghz 4200+ X2 model for $202 seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103547 But being on a tight budget either the 3500+ or 3700+ would be the ones to consider for the lower cost. You can also take a look at the combo deal seen on the AMD64 4000+ seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103529
yeah, but he's more than likely on a tight budget...

Here's a screen from the AMD comparison chart to look at which clearly shows the 3400+ as a Socket 754 model cpu. I knew that long ago before even putting this case together last spring.

okay, your a friggen moron... notice how the 2.2GHz is a 939 processor and the 2.4GHz is 745?

your misinformed majorly... the 3400+ 939 was discontenued and replaced by a 3500+
