Default Photoshop question

Hi this is a probably a newbie question but here goes:

I have Photoshop and I have one question. When I save work in Photoshop it saves as a .psd I want the .psd to be a .jpg How do you make it as a .jpg?

By the way this will be done in Photoshop 7.0

Open the image backup, notice there are two save features under the file menu, save, and save-as. If you do a save, it will replace the current copy of the file you have open, if you do a save-as, it will make a duplicate of the original file.

When you save the file, either for the first time, or with save-as, at the bottom of the window there is a drop down menu, where you can select the file extension, .psd.jpeg, .gif, .tiff, etc.

Ok thanks and that will automatically make it a .jpg and it will be able to open in .jpg right?
