Default SATA and Serial ATA

is SATA the same as Serial ATA? I always assumed the SATA was just saying serial ATA without saying serial.

Usually SATA 1 is written out as Serial ATA 150, while SATA2 is either just written as SATA or SATA 3gb/s.

SATA 3.0Gbps is different than SATAII. SATAII includes a bump to 300Mbps but that can be done on SATA I as well.

I've always heard from everyone, including computer articles, that there are two standards, SATA and SATAII. And that SATAII was the same as SATA3.0.
