hi guys,
i know ive asked this q's over and over again, but i just dont know what cpu fan/heatsink i should buy, my psu is a tagan 2force series that runs at 21Db, so my fan heatsink should run same or bit lower. if anyone can help me il be much appreciated. i would be buying it from http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...Thumbnails=yes

The answer for an AMD64 4200+ X2 in your sig is obvious. The Zalman CNPS 9500 seen at http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=405603

I assume you're not going for the heavy overclock Robina? Anyhow, i would suggest the Arctic Cooling, Freezer 64 pro over the Zalman 9500, since its a lot cheaper. ( I have the Zalman 9500 atm, and its great, no doubt,. but its also expensive
the freezer is a much better bang for the buck, you cant overclock as high with it as you could with the 9500, thats why i asked =) )http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=340993 I had the freezer 64 on my 3000+ (56% overclocked) and it ran cool with it,. this one is basicly the same, except the fan is fully suspended, making it even more silent, so its a great Heatsink, especially for the price (imo)

You're not overclocking? Then it doesnt matter. Just go for the arctic cooler, it's cheaper.
Make sure to get some Arctic Silver 5 in the same order.

The Zalman here was envied recently when the Artic Cooler 64Pro was the one a friend bought first then saw it. It keeps the temps down here even when pushing a heavy load on the cpu. A little AS5 goes a long way with it as well as never even hearing it while it's running.

Definately
Its way cheaper,.. and the normal temps would be just a tad higher than with the 9500.. but the freezer is much lighter ( so not such a heavy weight on the board) and a LOT cheaper. and without overclocking, there wont be much of a difference in performance between them (mayve 1~2*C ) Edit: as for the paste,.. get the Zalman ZM-STG1 Paste instead of the AS5, its way better, and much easyer to apply =)
