Looking to buy Radar Detector for Car (reccomendations?)

I heard Cobras were bad, whistler seems like an ok one.. And specific models anyone uses? I don't reall want to spend more than $150..

Good to know.. I found a Whistler xtd 850 or 280 for 128 or 99.. Im going to pick it up today.

I have a Whistler. I forget the model right off, but it's not bad. It's caught a few cops with time to spare

Recently I got "POPPED"(wasn't speeding or anything) but of course, I didn't have my radar detector out :-/ Would of been neat to see if I had any warning.

The best one I've ever used has been the Valentine ONE. But at over $300 it's steep. But none of the 3 friends of mine and my roommate who all have it have ever had a ticket while using it (from speeding that is). I've been 120MPH with my friend before when the Valentine went off so we slowed down looking around for the cop. 1 mile later we finally saw him lol. As recently as last month on a road trip back from New York we were doing 95 and it saved me from a hefty ticket from a state trooper who you could not see until you were past him (but oh could he see you). So I figure if you really want the best that's it. If I spent the money to own a sports car that's something I'd drop the cash for.

Wow...mine's not nearly that advanced

Dad got a few radar detectors for free, and gave me mine. I just searched around and it's a Whistler 1753.

I went to grab one from Radio Shack (as shipping is not an option) and the one I wanted Whistler was there. I went o buy it and the guy said he could not sell it as it was being recalled(defective). I had to settle for a Cobra

I am leaving for a 2600mile road trip tomorrow night, and I figure I will need it.

New house is crazy nice. Hope everyone is doing good. A lot of friends will come and go but a few will be there the whole time.
