Cool Weird Computer Problem - Please Help!

Hello everyone...

I'm having a weird problemwith my computer today. Since I turned it on thismorning there are 3 weird files on my desktop by the following names:

CAA7Q1YH.
CA5X7F37.
CAFEDSHR.

They don't have any particular format, and their file sizes are 0 bytes!!!

When I try to delete them, I get an error message telling me that "Cannot read from the source file or disk" !

I've scanned them with norton, and they are clean but it's just annoying the hell out of me...

I'd be greatful if you could advise on how to get rid of them.

Kind Regards,

Nima

I tried that. The items are visible in the folder you mentioned, however I was not able to remove them. The read-only box was not ticked when I opened the properties so that prbably isn't the problem. But whatamazes me is their 0 byte sizes! it's like they they are there but they don't exist!!! Any other suggestions for removing them? I'm desperate.

Default Aaaahhhhh...!!!

Hello guys!

I've tried everything you've asked, I ran the symantec software and nothing was found! I started the pc in the safe mode and I still couldn't delete the files!

The problem is that once it gets to deleting them, the computer does not recognise their existence!!! and therefore creates the error message: "Cannot delete the file: Cannot read from the source file or disk" But here they are on the desktop!

This is annoying the hell out of me...So PLEASE keep the solutions coming!

Much appreciated!

Regards,

Nima

Default Finally!

Wow!

I just found the ultimate solution! I backed up all the info on my user account and made another admin user account and deleted the previous one!

I'm saved...

Thank you for your help.

ciao

They could maybe have been on removable media eg. A memory stick and she/he couldn't delete them cause it wasnt plugged in.

Oh and if you got rid of the user account they are still on your computer but not visible on your current desktop.
