Default Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M1405

i have the fujitsu siemens AMILO M1405 laptop and have been having numerous problems with it for the last few months. we were told of a fault with the battery and to contact FS to get a replacement battery which we did and the computer came back to working perfectly, for about a month. now its im having more problems with it. it doesnt work. i was using it and suddenly it turned off and wouldnt come back on for about a week. this continued for a few weeks, one week working the next week not working. now i have been able to turn it on but it only last an hour at the most before the screen freezes and gradually goes a white colour and turns off.

i know very little about technology and computers and im sure i should have brought it to be fixed at this stage but i wanted to know exactly what was wrong before paying someone a fortune to look at it and tell me to get a new one. so if any of you have had a similiar problem or know what the problem might be i'd be gratefull to hear

thank you
